There are many useful tools and websites that can help with teaching Computing to students. I believe that using these tools and resources can relaly help to see how other people use the information they share and help to contribute to quality education. I have listed the best tools and websites for teaching Computing at GCSE.

  1. Free Code Camp — https://www.freecodecamp.org/
Free Code Camp is a webite that has a lot of free courses with videos and quizzes to ensure you are retaining knowledge. There is a course on Python here which is a good place to start https://www.freecodecamp.org/learn/scientific-computing-with-python/#python-for-everybody
  2. Code Academy — https://www.codecademy.com/
This includes great interactive courses that help to understand how to code and help you to create things by the end of it. A lot of the courses are paid, but the free versions should give you enough to get started.
  3. BBC Bitesize — https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/subjects/z34k7ty
Computer science is a wide ranging topic, and I don’t want this to be a list of purely programming things. Computing involves a lot of things, such as problem solving and algorithms, which are all covered in detail, with good guides and images.
  4. Isaac Computer Science — https://isaaccomputerscience.org/
While this site has a lot of A level material, it is releasing GCSE topics throughout 2022. This is a great site to use to teach GCSE material as it will have a good amount of the GCSE corriculum by the end of 2022.
